I’m very pleased to say that my next album will be out in a couple of months. It’s taken almost a year to complete and has been my own mini Mount Everest. I’ve had to conquer self-doubts and self-criticism along the way and learnt to listen with the ears of Love. I hope you enjoy the end result – not long left to wait!

I hope that 2010 has started well for you. I’ve had a lot of clarity about the direction I want to go in this year, and have been blessed with the energy to put things into action. I’ve started to play the harp again, which is a huge joy and becoming rather addictive. Look out for some magical harp twinkles on the next album! The recording studio is all set up and experimentation for my next album has begun… I hope to release it later this year. Other wonderful projects have been sprouting too, including the release of a CD featuring questions and answers from teenagers all around the world in relation to Neale Donald Walsch’s best-selling book ‘Conversations with God’. My music serves as the intros and outros to their questions, and a few full songs have been placed in between to help people to go deeper. I’m delighted when my co-creations evolve into something I never envisioned at the time I dreamed them up. (Check it out if you’re interested at the School for the New Spirituality.)

I started to write out complicated directions from an online route-planner. The stores were over an hour away and I began feeling extremely frustrated and unconfident that all of my effort would not stop me from getting hopelessly lost. I’d recently been thinking about buying a Satellite Navigation (Sat Nav) system for the car, and started to look up products and reviews on the Net, only to end up too many options, prices and in the same unclear and overwhelmed state as with my studio shopping! I stormed away from the computer and marched upstairs in an angry conversation with Life – ‘ Not again, this is exactly the same as with my studio… pointless… a waste of time… ‘. Eventually, I began to state out loud what I wanted: all of the features of the Sat Nav, approximate price, and then wrote it all down. I meditated, asked for help again, and in a local shop an hour later had found the model that did almost everything I’d listed and for less than my maximum price – only there were none left in stock and I’d have to go on my trip to the music stores without it! Argh!

The first music shop was easy to find, but they had none of the four keyboards I was interested in, nor the audio interface I’d intuited. A young man very passionate about  music equipment talked, and talked some more, for well over an hour, answering my questions, mentioning technical words about I don’t know what (but that I wrote down), and showing me his favourite products in the store and on the Internet.

When I left, I had just 20 minutes to find the next store, look around and get the advice I needed, before driving back to pick up my husband from work on time.

My written map directions took me out along a waterfront road that I felt was definitely away from where I wanted to go. I turned the car around, thinking I might just give up and go home, but then seeing a signpost for a University in the same area as the store, I followed a small road that wound up a hill back into the city. I drove along to where I thought I’d seen on the map, kept following my sense of direction, and ended up on a road that was on my written directions. Five minutes and a small miracle later, and I was stepping inside the music shop! It was tiny. A man sat at a computer, more interested in the world inside it than serving me. He directed me to the upstairs, where a couple of keyboards were set up, but none inspired me. No assistance. No products I was drawn to. Visit over. Needless to say, I found my way back to pick up my husband on time!

When I got home it occurred to me that I’d not really considered what kind of studio the Universe would encourage me to buy. I imagined that it would be made of really good quality professional gear – not as average as the stuff I’d been looking at. I had prayed for assistance before I started my search a few weeks ago, but now realised I had preconceptions about getting some quite low-priced items because I’d had less money when I first thought about setting up my studio years ago. Maybe Spirit wanted to offer me a studio that was better than my own imaginings. Here I was looking at crumbs, when maybe the Universe wanted me to see the Loaves!

I researched my intuited item, and the products recommended by the young man at the music shop, and later remembering the process with the Sat Nav, it occurred to me to write out a list of what I wanted for my studio, overall as well as for each of the items in it. I did this, and am now awaiting further guidance to make my choices. I’m pretty sure that the research is all done. My subconscious is full of brands, prices, models and it’s now up to the supercomputer network that is my consciousness to show me which to get. No more hours on the Internet – I’m ready to receive a studio from the Universe!
